I had a history of knee/joint with arthritis. On Oct. 15, 2018, I received an Euflexa injection to assist with my knees. I was told in 6-8 weeks I should be able to move around better. After 6-8 weeks, that did not occur. I started to gradually lose mobility in my legs.
On Dec. 6, 2018, I was admitted to CMC Main hospital for observation. After several MRIs, it was determined there was spinal stenosis. On 12/17/18 I had the spinal cord surgery to release the spinal cord canal. I stayed in the hospital for 4 weeks. I could not feel my legs at all during this four week period. On Dec.28, 2018 I was transferred to Acute Rehab. After a couple of weeks, I started getting balance back and to feel lower extremities and I was able to wiggle my toes. I continue to work on core and leg strengthening.
This grant will provide much-needed physical therapy to continue the progress to be able to walk.
