Billie J’s Story

I was a healthy, 53 year old, granny to 5, healthcare worker. I suffered a cardiac arrest at work and my co-workers immediately began CPR. My Cardiologist said technically I died twice and I am very fortunate.


Post cardiac arrest I suffered a spinal stroke which resulted in me becoming a T7 complete paraplegic. The level of my injury affects my core muscles and I have upper balance issues and no use of my lower extremities. This was a life changing event but I try to keep a “I can do It” positive attitude. I need PT and OT to help me live my best life possible.


I want to be active in my 5 grandchildren’s lives. To be able to play, bake, and help care for my grandchildren means everything to me and my family
